There’s just so much to love about this wedding. Elise and Mike are two such lovely people just made for each other. And there’s a nice little slice of happenstance behind the alignment of their stars. They both grew up in Whitley Bay literally a few hundred yards from each other but didn’t actually meet until fate brought their paths together in London where they currently live. It was therefore kind of fitting that we headed to Whitley Bay, indeed meeting at the sea front cafe where they shared their first date, for their pre-wedding shoot earlier in the year. I clicked with them instantly and it’s fair to say their wedding was one I was really looking forward to.
I was also excited to check out their venue as it’s the most recent addition to the portfolio of the very fine people at Cripps. I’ve photographed their Shustoke Barn venue near Coleshill and indeed was introduced to Elise & Mike by the lovely Roseanne whose wedding I photographed a couple of years ago at the original Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds. Suffice to say, Healey Barn lived up to the billing. It’s in a stunning location and has been very lovingly and tastefully done out. Throw in Elise & Mike’s well thought out personal decorations, including many a reference to 80s song lyrics, plus some stunning blooms by Bels Flowers and the scene was set.
The day itself was just a privilege to be part of from start to finish. So much energy and love – just as every good wedding should have – and it was so great to see Elise & Mike loving every minute. I don’t think that infectious smile left Elise’s lips all day right through to what was one heck of an evening party with top tunes courtesy of my friends at Disco Shed. Anyway, less chat, more photos. Here’s what happened…
