BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY OF 2018 by John Hope Photography

best wedding photography of 2018

Welcome to my best wedding photography of 2018 annual round up. Is it me or did those 12 months just whizz by? I guess it’s true that time flies when you’re having fun and I certainly enjoyed a great year both personally and professionally. I loved every bit of the weather during the greatest summer of my lifetime (What do you mean I look old enough to have been born before ’76?). Great times with family and friends and some very memorable weddings… And outside of that I still managed to board more planes than in any previous year – some amazing places visited, new friends made and of course no shortage of pictures taken.

You’re here to see photos so I won’t waffle on but I must throw out a few thank yous. Firstly and most importantly to the couples who chose me to photograph the most important day of their lives – the significance, privilege and importance is never lost on me. Thanks SO much one and all. Thanks to all my photographer friends and other supplier buddies in this most amazing of industries that I feel so lucky to work in. I’m a great advocate of networking and you, my ‘colleagues’ add so very much to the enjoyment of this job whilst offering an amazing support network to boot. Shout outs to those I’ve shot alongside this year: Shane, Jon, Phill, Alex, Andy, Jamie, Mark – a massive pleasure guys!

Finally to my perfect little family – the girls always get sad when I have to work away which hurts but it’s all worthwhile for the good times and memories we get to make when we’re together. During the summer Helen and I organised a mini festival as a joint 40th bash. This was one of the best things I’ve ever done. Check out the photos my great friend Matt Long did for us: https://bit.ly/2Mov36F. And in and amongst everything else I’m super proud of Helen for setting up her own HR recruitment business. So yeah…. it’s whizzed by but boy we’ve fitted a lot in!

I’m going to give the final word to some of my clients who have flattered me with some of their feedback this past 12 months (a mix of email thanks and reviews left). Once again, thanks and big love to you all!

Enjoy the photos…

Kind Words:

“John we have opened some wine and sat down to look through the photos and there are just tears flowing!!! They are absolutely amazing! You’ve captured some incredible shots! Honestly can’t thank you enough ?? I’ll send a proper thank you later but just know we’re so happy!”
Nikki & James

“John photographed our wedding in October this year and the photos we have received surpassed anything we could have hoped for. They are utterly incredible and we both shed a tear when watching the beautiful video montage he put together of our day. I can’t recommend him enough. Not only is the end result perfect he is a great person to have as part of your wedding – he’s fun and got on brilliantly with our guests on the day and during the planning he was super helpful and supportive. Listen to any advice he gives – he’s seen it all before. To be honest, we’d like him to be the official photographer for our lives moving forward! Thank you a million times John, I can’t tell you how grateful we are and we already treasure your pictures.”
Liz & Ronan

“I haven’t officially said it but THANK YOU so much for our incredible wedding photos. We love them and can’t stop looking at them! You have captured the day so perfectly. So many friends have said how good you were on the day – chilled/non-invasive but still managing to capture everything and then they have all said how amazing the photos are too. I love that they are not cheesy but relaxed, classy and candid. I hope you win this award. You truly deserve it!”
Rosina & Liam

“We had high expectations and John managed to exceed them, incorporating everything we wanted for the day and beforehand! The photos captured all the emotions & drama as well as our nearest and dearest in their resplendent best, bringing a tear to the eye/lump in the throat whilst leaving us laughing out loud & grinning from ear to ear as we viewed the shots. The full service was exceptional, with invaluable advice helping to make it personal to us with innovative shots the venue have not seen before.”
Isla & Ciaran

“John’s guidance from his great breadth of experience has been incredibly helpful from the start! Communication was excellent – he is based in Yorkshire whereas we live in Cambridgeshire, yet John was always happy to chat on phone/skype. During the wedding day, John fitted in as one of the guests. He was great in organising his arrangements with a difficult church and found some amazing venue photo locations. A great relaxed approach and incredible photos, would highly recommend to anyone!”
Claire & Matt

“John is the complete package. Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer but he is an absolute pleasure to have around on your wedding day. My husband is very awkward in front of the camera but John worked his magic, put us totally at ease and we have the most amazing set of photos from our big day as a result. He was able to guide people for group shots without coming across as bossy, in fact our guests absolutely loved him too! John’s fun, relaxed approach, loud shirts and amazing talent is a really special combo. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and we’ll be looking for an excuse to use him again in the future if we can!”
