It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years since Lyndsay & Jake’s amazing wedding and I think this is largely because I would normally have done a whole load more weddings between then and now what with most of this years being bumped on. 2020 will be many things to many people but for a whole massive industry and tens of thousands of couples it’ll long be remembered as the year weddings got called off. I was due to do a couple of Askham Hall weddings this year (can’t wait for them next year!) and it really is one of my favourite venues in the country so it seems apt to take you there with this post.
Lyndsey and Jake took full advantage of what the wonderful Askham has to offer. The boys relaxed in the hot tub and pool in the morning before both parties got ready in the stunning rooms in the hall. The ceremony in the barn was all at once beautiful, joyful and emotional, led by Humanist celebrant Veronika Robinson. For any couples reading this I would massively recommend at least looking into the idea of a humanist (or other celebrant led) ceremony if you’re not going down the religious route. They are so consistently the most personal, engaging and memorable ceremonies I get to witness! Drinks followed in the hall and outside on the lawn overlooking the stunning Eden valley before heading back to the barn to party the night away with a ceilidh and disco.
I tell you what…. if Carlsberg did weddings!
