As 2018 opens out before me I can’t quite believe this’ll be my 9th year as a wedding photographer. The time really has flown and looking back it’s been a rollercoaster beyond anything I could have imagined, meeting some amazing people and making loads of new lifelong friends along the way both through the weddings I’ve shot and through the industry too. It’s a job that’s taken me to every corner of the UK, all over Europe and further afield than that. Professionally I’ve never felt more at home or more comfortable in my own skin than doing this as a job. It just feels right. All this time on I still get that buzz when I wake up on a wedding morning, still feel the flutter of nerves as I eat my breakfast and the tingle of panic that I’m going to forget something as I load my gear into the boot of the car (despite the fact that I follow the same check list every time!). I love the job as much as ever and relish the challenge of pushing myself to be better and develop my craft with each new year.
In recognition of my work this past year I have once again been shortlisted in the Best Wedding Photographer category in the UK Wedding Awards!! Right, I think it’s about time we got onto some photos! 2017, you’ve been absolutely mega! I had a feeling at the start of the season that good things were ahead and boy, I wasn’t wrong…. So before I dive head first into 2018, I’ll allow myself a moment of pride as I reflect on some of my favourite photos from the past twelve months. I’m dedicating this post to the people who’ve made this year so awesome: my couples, my photographer buddies especially those who’ve second shot for me: Tim, Paul, Chris, Jamie, Mark (big up yourselves!), my friends and last but not least my amazing and supportive family. I raise a glass of the peatiest whisky and wish you all the best for 2018. Cheers!

on January 12, 2018I think the trick to this thing is realising beautiful unique moments well in advance before there’s any obvious sign and obviously shooting. Sounds simple enough; you excell where others consistently fall far short. Timing/moment is spot on, editing is beautiful.. beautiful pictures of beautiful people (inside & out) a truly stunning collection of moments in time. Be proud, you’ve achieved greatness in my humble.
